The Price of War With North Korea
I think this is an effective opinion piece because it addresses something that is relevant and controversial in a very logical way supported by facts and its analysis. It comes to the conclusion that war-- a surprise attack-- is very costly in terms of economics, reputation, deaths. and the risks involved with it. Therefore the writer thinks that the wise way to tackle it would be a combination of diplomacy and deterrence.
I agree that the piece is strong. It has good arguments and doesn't get ranty, but sticks with logical arguments-- war harms nations, is bad for the economy, etc.
ReplyDeleteI agree because the author backs up their opinion with facts and an analysis of the situation that stop the article from only ranting about possibility of an attack on North Korea and the effects that it would have.
